instead的用法1：instead是副詞,只能單獨(dú)使用。基本意思是“代替”,可依據(jù)上下文靈活翻譯,有時(shí)甚至干脆不譯。
instead的用法2：instead可位于句首,連接上下句。通常是上句先否定一種情況,再以instead引出下句,提出相反的情況。
instead的用法3：instead也可位于句末,可用于兩個(gè)獨(dú)立的句子,也可用于并列句的后一句中,還可用于帶有狀語(yǔ)從句的主句中,這時(shí)常譯為“反之”,“相反”。
instead的用法4：instead of是短語(yǔ)介詞,其后可接名詞、代詞、動(dòng)名詞,有時(shí)也可接形容詞、動(dòng)詞不定式、介詞短語(yǔ)等。instead of前后兩部分的意思一般是一正一反,可靈活譯為“(用…)代替…”“(是…)而不是…”“并非”“反而”等。
instead的用法5：一般認(rèn)為動(dòng)詞不定式和形容詞不能作介詞賓語(yǔ),所以可以把“instead of+ adj. /to- v ”看作是of之后省略了being或其他v -ing形式的動(dòng)詞。
