Teaching Procedures:
Step 1 Revision
1 Have several students read aloud their letters for the class.
2 Revise the reflexive pronouns.
Step 2 Presentation
Tell the students that when you want somebody to have a good time, you say Enjoy yourself! like this:
A: I‘m going to a birthday party tomorrow!
B: Oh good! Enjoy yourself!
Practise dialogues like these with the class:
T: I’m going to Qingdao next week!
Ss: Oh good! Enjoy yourself!
T: I‘m going to the cinema after school!
Ss: Oh good! Enjoy yourself!
Get individual students to say I’m going to... sentences for the rest of the class to respond
Oh good! Enjoy yourself!
Step 3 Read and learn
SB Page 33, Part 1, Speech Cassette Lesson 83. Books closed! Ask Does Mr More enjoy himself? Play the first part of the tape for the students to find the answer (no). Ask Does Mr Little enjoy himself? And play the second part of the tape (yes). Now books open. Let the students read the passages. They work in pairs to answer the questions. Check the answers with the whole class. Play the tape again for the students to practise reading aloud.
Step 4 Read and say
SB Page 33, Part 2, Speech Cassette Lesson 83. Play the tape for the students to listen and repeat. Then in groups of three get the students to read the dialogue together. Ask several groups to act it out in front of the class.
Step 5 Workbook
Wb Lesson 83, Exx. 1-3. Ask the students to read the two short passages again to find the compound sentences with and or but. Then do Exx. 1 and 2.
Do Ex. 3 orally as a class. For Ex. 3, read the story to the class while they listen. If you have a song sung by Celine Dion, you may play this for the students to listen to. Then ask the students to read the story quietly. Next divide the students into small groups and have them discuss the questions.

Finish off the workbook exercises.
Write down the answers to Wb Lesson 83, Ex 3 in the exercise book.
